Oahu, Hawaii
The way I will never be able to get over the immense beauty and magic this place held, and I’m counting down every second until I get to go back!
Let’s start from the top. We flew into Honolulu early Tuesday morning after our 2 incredible days in Disneyland! When we landed at the airport, there was someone there to give us all Leis to celebrate us being in Hawaii! Driving through Hawaii was just incredible, the views and greenery were something out of a movie and I just couldn’t believe it was real! As we pulled up to the entrance of Aulani, it truly took our breath away. We immediately took it all in, checking in, exploring the resort, getting our first visit pins and just seeing what it all had to offer. We checked in to our 2 bedroom suite (rented through DVC points) and got settled. The room was absolutely beautiful with a kitchen, dining area, 2 bedrooms and a beautiful view of the mountains of Hawaii. It had the perfect subtle Disney touches all throughout which was so special and exciting. After exploring the resort a bit more, we got into our bathing suits and headed down for a sunset swim in the lagoon, grabbed some dinner from the cafe on property (delicious, btw!), and headed to bed after a long day!
Day 2 started out with an early morning exploring the resort and grabbing coffee from the town center across the street. We ended up getting coffee here every day because it was just that good!! After that, Holly and her mom made us a delicious breakfast before we headed down to the lagoon for a morning swim! When we arrived back in the room, Holly surprised us with the most beautiful gifts to celebrate her 30th birthday! She really went all out on this trip and it was so sweet and thoughtful. We spent a little while opening gifts, enjoying some 30th birthday cake and getting ready together because that night was our Luau! Guys.. this was the MOST INCREDIBLE thing I have ever witnessed. Hawaiian culture is so beautiful and I truly felt so lucky to be able to be there. The food was delicious and the music and show was truly unlike anything else. The heart and soul behind Hawaiian culture is something that is so hard to explain unless you experience it yourself. It was an all you can eat buffet and they had little activities like lei bracelet making, Hawaiian “tattoo” stamps and ukulele lessons all before the show started. Highly recommend getting there early to experience all of what the Luau has to offer! After the Luau, we headed to the Olelo Room (a bar/lounge on property) to grab a drink before turning in for the night! One of my favorite days from this trip.
I think I’ll end this blog post here because it’s already so long, but stay tuned for part 2! Coming soon :)
